Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi permasalahan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa \nterhadap materi protista yang disebabkan oleh bahan ajar yang kurang kreatif dan \ninovatif di kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 17Bandungtahun ajaran 2015/2016. Maka \ndibutuhkannya bahan ajar yang bisa membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan \nkreatif dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran, sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil \nbelajar siswa. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa SMAN 17 Bandung kelas X IPA 5 \ndan X IPA 6 dengan jumlah siswa masing-masing kelas sebanyak 30 orang siswa. \nMetode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen atau \neksperimen semu dengan desainnon-equivalentpretest postest design. Variabel \npenelitian terdiri atas 2variabel, yaitu variabel bebas berupa bahan ajar atlas \nbiologi, variabel terikat berupa hasil belajar siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel \ndigunakan dengan teknik Purposive Sampling yakni teknik pengumpulan sampel \ndengan pertimbangan kriteria kelas yang nilai rata-rata hampir seimbang pada \npembelajaran biologi. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan \nmenggunakan tes soal berupa test objektif (pilihan ganda) terdiri dari pretest dan \nposttest yang isi soalnya sama yaitu 20 soal pilihan ganda. Pretest digunakan \nuntuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa sebelum pembelajaran dan posttest \ndigunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah pembelajaran. Hasil \nanalisis data menunjukan pada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai rata- \nrata posttest kelas kontrol mencapai 42,5, pada nilai pretest kelas kontrol \nmencapai 68,5 sedangkan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas eksperimen untuk posttest \nmencapai nilai 39,17 dan untuk posttest mencapai nilai 76,33. Dari hasil \npenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan bahan \najar atlas biologi dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan ajar alternatif dalam \nkegiatan pembelaran untuk menigkatkan hasil belajar siswa. \n \nKata Kunci:atlas biologi, hasil belajar, protista
