En el municipio de Puerto Libertad, ubicado a 25 km de la triple frontera Paraguay-Brasil-Argentina, los verdes son llamativamente contrastantes si se observa el mapa desde arriba. En la fotografía aérea, reflejando la posesión y usufructo de la tierra, se destacan dos elementos que se encuentran atravesados por Ruta Nacional 12. El primero es una inmensa mancha de agua producto de la represa del arroyo Urugua-í, el cual desemboca en el río Paraná delineando la frontera internacional. Desde antes de su inauguración en 1994, el proyecto para generar energía inundó 10mil hectáreas de bosque y plantaciones. El lago artificial ha dejado un hermoso paseo por sus orillas. El segundo elemento característico es la valoración diversa de verdes encontrados (ver mapa 1). Domina un verde oscuro que responde a las homogéneas plantaciones de pinos que cubren mayoritariamente el terreno. Aparece un verde menos oscuro y más desprolijo que se encuentra en manchas dispersas señalando los escasos remanentes existentes de la selva misionera o, llamada por los expertos, Bosque Atlántico. Por último, se señalan dos parches pintaditos de rojos y verdes donde existen las líneas rectas que marcan caminos y se distinguen algunas casas. Estos son los dos parajes rurales del Municipio de Puerto Libertad –San Isidro Labrador y Nueva Libertad- donde viven productores rurales que trabajan la tierra...
