Denne litteraturstudien tar for seg forskningen på rehabilitering av fremre korsbånd ruptur (CCLr) med og uten kirurgisk behandling. Vi vil presentere ulike rehabiliteringsmodaliteter og deres evidens på effekt pr.dd. Dette er grunnlaget for vårt forslag til en «gullstandard»- protokoll. I tillegg belyses oppdatert kunnskap om CCLr og det diskuteres faktorer som kan gjøre hunder predisponerte. To nordiske forskningsartikler blir sammenlignet med eget journalsøk i ProVet på NMBU. Resultatet av vår studie viser at nyere modaliteter innen rehabilitering trenger mer forskning på effekt. Flere modaliteter har god dokumentert effekt på humansiden. Terapeutisk trening og kryoterapi er modalitetene med mest evidens innen veterinærmedisin. Det eksisterer lite forskning på konservativ behandling av CCLr, og hovedvekten i oppgaven er derfor på rehabilitering etter kirurgi. Undersøkelsen på nordiske forhold viser en økt forekomst av CCLr etter fylte fem år. Store/gigantiske hunderaser har tendens til å få CCLr i yngre alder. Rottweiler trekkes frem som en predisponert rase. Av særlig interesse ble det gjort funn på at terriere og jakthunder er overrepresenterte. Her kom det i tillegg frem en geografisk, nordisk forskjell på rasen Labrador Retriever. Funnene gjør at vi kan stille spørsmål ved om bruksområde og avl i Norden gjør terriere og jakthunder sårbare for tilstanden
