Abstract
La displasia dell’anca nei cani è una delle patologie ortopediche più diffuse. L’esame radiografico delle articolazioni coxofemorali è un metodo largamente accettato e documentato per la diagnosi di displasia e rappresenta l’unico modo di ridurne la frequenza genetica attraverso la valutazione fenotipica dei riproduttori. Lo scopo di questo studio è determinare la prevalenza della displasia dell’anca, nei suoi diversi gradi e manifestazioni, in una popolazione di 42 cani appartenenti alle razze Labrador e Golden Retriever provenienti dalla Scuola Nazionale Cani Guida per Ciechi della regione Toscana. La valutazione radiografica delle anche è stata eseguita utilizzando la proiezione ventrodorsale standard. La gravità della displasia è stata classificata sia con il metodo F.C.I. che con il metodo anglosassone. La prevalenza di displasia dell’anca nella popolazione è stata del 73,8%; del 76,2% nei maschi e del 71,4% nelle femmine; del 77,4% nei cani tra 14 e 18 mesi di età e 63,7% nei cani tra 19 e 24 mesi di età. Il 16,1% dei cani displasici avevano displasia monolaterale. Il 23,8% dei casi presentava solo incongruità articolare come segno di displasia, il 73,8% presentava incongruità con osteofitosi ed il 2,4% presentava solo osteofitosi. La prevalenza della displasia nel sottogruppo dei non artrosici è stata del 30%.
