Abstract
Le Conseil National de Recherches du Canada est le principal organisme de recherches et de développement du gouvernement canadien. Les chercheurs du CNRC apportent chaque année une contribution importante au palmarès scientifique de recherches du Canada. En fait, ils produisent des milliers d'exposés de conférences, d'articles, de livres, de chapitres de livres et de rapports techniques. Le CNRC fait partie d'un groupe sans cesse croissant d'universités, de collèges et d'organismes, notamment d'autres organismes de recherches, qui ont reconnu l'importante de transmettre au monde entier les résultats de leurs travaux de recherche en créant des dépôts en ligne interrogeables auxquels tous peuvent avoir accès. Pour appuyer cette philosophie, le CNRC a mis en place une politique selon laquelle ces chercheurs sont tenus de déposer leurs publications, révisées par les pairs et leurs rapports techniques dans ces archives des publications. Les archives de publication du CNRC renferment également des dossiers liés à des brevets, à des exposés et à d'autres types de documentations parallèles. Aujourd'hui, les archives des publications du CNRC constituent une passerelle d'accès public au fond documentaire de recherches du CNRC. Ce fond englobe plus de 45 000 notices et assure un accès à plus de 12 500 articles en texte intégral, nombre qui augmente chaque jour.
