Abstract
Kapadokya Bölgesi, geleneksel mimari dokusu, kültürel özellikleri ve doğal oluşumları ile dünyanın önemli koruma alanlarından \nbirisidir. Kapadokya, kaya oyma yerleşimlerin, yeraltı şehirlerinin \nve yığma taş yapıların oluşturduğu, doğal oluşumlarla da bütünleşen yerel dokusu ile ön plana çıkmaktadır. Kapadokya bölgesi \ntarihsel süreçte farklı sosyal, kültürel, siyasal ve mekânsal özellikler göstererek zengin bir dokuya bürünmüştür. Kapadokya \nBölgesi’nin genel mimari karakteri incelendiğinde Ürgüp konut \nmimarisi ve özellikleri dikkat çekmektedir. Tarihsel süreç göz \nönüne alındığı zaman Kapadokya Bölgesi’nin geniş bir coğrafyaya yayıldığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada kapsamında Kapadokya \nsınırları içerisinde yer alan önemli yerleşim merkezlerinden biri \nolan Ürgüp bölgesi Konut mimarisi ve Ürgüp konutlarının yapısal \nve mekânsal özellikleri incelenecektir. Ürgüp konutlarının farklı karakteristik özelliklere sahip olduğu bölgenin sosyal, siyasal, \nkültürel, iklimsel etkilerinin konut mimarisine yansıdığını söylemek mümkündür.
