Depuis la décision Truchon à la suite de laquelle les critères d’admissibilité à l’aide médicale à \nmourir ont été modifiés, la question de l’élargissement de l’accès à l’aide médicale à mourir au \nQuébec devient de plus en plus actuelle, notamment pour les personnes mineures jugées matures. \nAlors que cette pratique est déjà légalisée en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas, sa prohibition pour les \npersonnes mineures au Québec soulève de nombreux enjeux, autant d’un point de vue juridique \nqu’éthique. \nL’objectif de cette étude est donc d’identifier sous un angle multidisciplinaire les enjeux éthiques \net juridiques liés à la problématique de l’aide médicale à mourir pour les adolescents au Québec, \npour ensuite déterminer quelles mesures précises pourraient y répondre efficacement. Sous l’angle \nde l’éthique de l’enfance et des études de l’enfance, l’ensemble de l’analyse suggère que la \nprohibition de l’AMM pour les adolescents semble non seulement contraire à leur intérêt, mais \nqu’elle semble aussi injustifiée. De surcroit, l’analyse pointe vers l’existence manifeste de plusieurs \nmodalités et mesures de protection qui pourraient être mises en place et qui assureraient un \nélargissement de l’accès à ce soin sécuritaire et respectueux des droits des personnes mineures et \nde leur statut moral.
