Le coaching de la prise de parole en public est un phénomène de plus en plus répandu, que ce soit en Belgique francophone ou à Ottawa, au Canada. Au travers de l’analyse de ces différents témoignages et ouvrages de professionnels, il apparait que le point de vue qu’un professionnel sur la discipline dépend de son parcours et qu’il existe autant de profils que d’approches de la prise de parole en public. Certaines différences culturelles sont également à souligner, même si les échanges d’un côté à l’autre de l’Atlantique sont nombreux. Il ressort clairement que le théâtre et la communication sont deux disciplines qui facilitent la prise de parole en public et son apprentissage. Bien que la première s’occupe globalement de la forme et que la deuxième s’occupe du contenu, elles sont imbriquées et ne peuvent être totalement dissociées dans l’exercice de la communication orale. Cette partie de mémoire-projet constitue le socle théorique à partir duquel Le jeu de la prise de parole en public a été construit.
