In Québec, tra l’inglese e il francese c’è sempre stato un rapporto di amore e odio. Difatti, all’interno della provincia si è sempre cercato di evitare l’influenza anglofona per poter mantenere la lingua francese il più pura possibile. Tuttavia, l’inglese è comunque riuscito a penetrare in ogni ambito della vita dei quebecchesi. La forte presenza di anglicismi è quindi un elemento caratteristico della variazione di francese parlata in Québec, influenzandone non solo il lessico, ma anche la morfologia, la fonetica e la sintassi. In questo elaborato ci si propone di analizzare il ruolo che l’inglese ha e ha avuto in Québec, sia da un punto di vista storico e sociale che da un punto di vista linguistico, analizzando le modalità e la frequenza con cui gli anglicismi vengono utilizzati dai quebecchesi. L’oggetto preso in analisi è "La Job", versione quebecchese della serie televisiva inglese "The Office" che, grazie al suo linguaggio informale, rappresenta il parlato della popolazione della provincia. Tuttavia, l’influenza dell’inglese sul francese non riguarda solamente il Québec, ma anche la Francia. Conseguentemente, per poter confrontare l’uso degli anglicismi nelle due variazioni di francese, verrà anche analizzata l’influenza dell’inglese in "Le Bureau", versione esagonale della stessa serie.
