Abstract
Sabemos que as identidades – nacionais, regionais ou individuais – não existem por si mesmas: elas são fruto de um processo de construção histórica. No interior desse processo, os discursos ideológicos possuem um papel relevante, posto que têm como um de seus pressupostos explicitar e redefinir periodicamente os contornos da nação. É nessa perspectiva que nosso trabalho propõe lançar um olhar sobre a Acádia, que é, sem dúvida, um caso exemplar, por possuir um passado único na história das sociedades coloniais na América do Norte. Primeira colônia francesa estabelecida em território canadense, os acadianos têm a Deportação de 1755 como marco histórico que transformou para sempre a sua identidade. Nosso estudo busca analisar o mito da acadianidade e suas (re)configurações no espaço e no imaginário americano do norte, além de retraçar alguns momentos importantes no itinerário desse povo. Résumé: On sait que les identités – qu’elles soient nationales, regionales ou individuelles – n’existent pas par soi-mêmes; elles se dégagent d’un processus de construction historique. À l’interieur de ce processus, les discours ideologiques jouent un rôle considerable lorsque l’un de ses presupposés est expliciter et redefinir periodiquement les contours d’une nation. Dans cette perspective, notre travail propose jetter un regard sur l’Acadie qui est, sans doute, un cas exemplaire grâce à son passé unique dans l’histoire des sociétés coloniales en Amérique du Nord. Prèmière colonie française établie en territoire canadien, la Déportation de ses habitants en 1755 a façonné son identité à jamais. Notre étude analyse le mythe de l’acadianité et ses (re)configurations dans l’espace et l’imaginaire américain du Nord, tout en retraçant quelques moments importants de l’itineraire de ce peuple.Mots clés: Historicité; identité acadienne; culture canadienne-française Abstract: We know that the identities – whether national, regional or individual, do not exist by themselves: they are the result of a process of historical construction. In this process, the ideological discourses play a relevant role given that one of their presumptions is the periodical clarification and redefinition of the contours of the nation. In this perspective our work proposes a closer look at Acadia which is, without any doubt, an exemplary case, as it possesses a unique past in the history of the colonial societies in North America. First permanent French settlers in Canadian territory, the Acadians have the deportation of 1755 as the milestone that once transformed its identity for all. Our study aims at analyzing the myth of the Acadian identity and its (re)configurations in space and in the imaginary of North-Americans, as well as retracing some important moments in the trajectory of this people.Keywords: Historicity; Acadian identity; French Canadian culture
