Abstract
Tämä opinnäyte on tapaustutkimus. Kirjallinen osuus käsittelee teatterigenrejen rajojen lainalaisuutta. Rajojen häviämistä. Työni lähtökohtana oli suuri kiinnostukseni esitystaiteeseen, performanssitaiteeseen ja kuvataiteen vaikutukseen teatterissa. Tavoitteeni oli poistua perinteisistä teatterikentän rajoista, tutkia niiden rajapintoja ja löytää vastaus kysymykseen "kuka sanelee rajat ja miksi?" Taiteellisessa osuudessa lähdin työskentelemään kuvien ja äänen kautta, tutkien samalla onko mahdollista synnyttää kohtauksia jotka syntyvät ja kuolevat, ilman kronologista järjestystä? Voiko taiteilijan siveltimen jälkeä jatkaa, vai onko se kuva joka ei muunnu? Yhtenä arvokkaana materiaalina minulla oli oman pappani haastattelumateriaali, jossa pappani Emil Honkanen, kertoo menneiden aikojen tietäjistä ja silmänkääntäjistä. Tämä opinnäyte mahdollisti myös materiaalin kokoamisen ja editoimisen levyksi, joka menee mahdollisesti Suomen Kirjallisuuden Seuran runousarkistoon. Taiteellinen osuus tähtäsi yhteen esitykseen, Taiteiden yöhön, Helsingin Seurasaaren Läntiseen pukkisaareen 22.8.2008. Tutkimuksen perusteella nykyteatteri elää kautta, jossa rajapintoja rikotaan, eikä kokeellisuus ole uutta teatterissa. Elämme performanssitaiteen kulta-aikaa, kokemuksellisuus on astunut vahvasti esitystaiteen ytimeen, rajat katoavat. Perimätieto ei ole arkisto, vaan käyttökelpoinen arvokas materiaali ja sen säilyttäminen ja arvo pitää tunnustaa.
