Layanan seluler atau yang biasa disebut layanan SMS (Short Message Service) gateway merupakan sebuah sistem layanan yang menggunakan fasilitas SMS dengan menggunakan media handphone / telepon seluler yang bertujuan sebagai sarana layanan komunikasi dan informasi antara lembaga dengan penggunanya. Layanan SMS merupakan layanan yang relative baru tetapi sudah merambah ke semua aktivitas masyarakat, tidak terkecuali perpustakaan. Sistem layanan tersebut merupakan salah satu fasilitas layanan perpustakaan yang bertujuan memberikan kemudahan bagi pengguna perpustakaan dalam mendapatkan layanan perpustakaan, sesuai dengan fasilitas yang diberikan oleh perpustakaan. \nPenelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas sistem layanan seluler, juga untuk mengevaluasi implementasi yang telah dilakukan selama tiga tahun ini, serta untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang ditemui selama pelaksanaa sistem. \nMetode penelitian dalam pembuatan tugas akhir ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif sebagai prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari para responden \nBerdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa efektifitas system layanan seluler sudah berjalan dengan baik dan sistematis, menurut tujuh poin evaluasi yaitu system quality, information quality, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, information system use, individual impact, dan information system satisfaction, secara keseluruhan sudah cukup memadai dan memuaskan. Walaupun terdapat titik kelemahan pada tahapan implementasi sistem layanan seluler, yang membuat jumlah pengguna layanan seluler tidak banyak, maka dari itu perlu dilakukan upaya sosialisasi dan promosi layanan seluler kepada seluruh pengguna perpustakaan pada khususnya \ndan seluruh sivitas akademika pada umumnya.
