Yleisurheilun maajoukkueessa kilpailevien korkeakouluopiskelijoiden käsityksiä kaksoisuraan liittyvistä taloudellisista ja sosiaalisista tuista

Abstract
Tämän pro-gradun tutkielman tehtävänä oli selvittää yleisurheilun maajoukkueessa kilpailevien korkeakouluopiskelijoiden käsityksiä kaksoisuran taloudellisista ja sosiaalisista tuista. Kaksoisuralaisilla tarkoitetaan tässä tutkimuksessa niitä henkilöitä, jotka suorittavat kilpaurheilu-uransa lisäksi korkeakouluopintoja. Tutkimukseen osallistui Suomen Urheiluliiton (nykyään Suomen Yleisurheilu) maajoukkuekriteerien perusteella (2023) kilpaileviin yleisurheilijoiden joukkoon (maajoukkuekriteerien poistuttua syksyllä 2024 puhutaan yli 12 pisteen) urheilijaa. Aineisto kerättiin haastattelemalla 2024 syksyllä. Tutkimuksen aineiston teoreettisena viitekehyksenä toimii pääasiallisesti kaksoisuraan liittyvä teoria kaksoisurasta ja sen haasteista. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, etteivät kaksoisuralaiset saa kaksoisuraansa taloudellista tukea riittävästi. Suurin osa tutkittavasti kertoi, että mahdollinen taloudellinen lisätuki auttaisi heitä kehittymään huippu-urheilijoina. Taloudellinen tuki helpottaisi myös urheilijoiden kokemaan ahdistukseen omasta taloudellisesta tilanteestaan. Sosiaalista tukea koettiin saatavan riittävästi, vaikka sitä kuitenkin toivottiin lisää etenkin opintojen rytmittämiseen. Kaksoisuraan kannustamista tuleekin jatkossa miettiä enemmän siitä näkökulmasta, mitkä ovat urheilijoiden yksilölliset mahdollisuudet sitä toteuttaa.
