Abstract
Розглянуто епістолярний діалог між двома активними еміграційними діячами – митрополитом Іларіоном (Огієнком) та журналістом, істориком Євгеном Онацьким. Тези ґрунтуються на декількох листах за період 1946-56 рр., що зберіглися в архіві Української Православної Церкви в Канаді в особовому фонді митрополита Іларіона (Огієнка). Вони є важливим джерело до вивчення життя та діяльності вказаних осіб, історії української еміграції загалом. Наявні у листах відомості розповідають про конкретні наукові та видавничі плани І. Огієнка та Є. Онацького, висвітлюють їх інтелектуальний діалог, подають нові відомості про особисте життя, побут та психологічний стан під час перебування у чужому соціокультурному середовищі. \n(The article analyses the epistolary dialogue between two active public figures – Metropolitan Ilarion and journalist and historian Yevhen Onatskyi. The author of the research analyses several letters, written over the period 1946-56, which have been preserved in the archive of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada in the personal fund of Metropolitan Ilarion (Ohiienko). These letters are a very important source of information that is used to study the life and activity of the correspondents, as well as the history of the Ukrainian emigration in general. The letters contain the information regarding exact scholarly and publication plans of Metropolitan Ilarion and Yevhen Onatskyi. Furthermore, letters reflect the intellectual character of the dialogue between the correspondents and provide the researchers with data on their personal life, routine and their psychological state while living in foreign socio-cultural society.)
