eterminar si existen cambios en la microbiota gastrointestinal que se asocian con el espectro autista en niños y adolescentes. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó una búsqueda estratégica en las siguientes bases de datos: Pubmed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, Wiley, Sage Journals, Google Academic, Medrvix, Renati, Semantic Scholar. Los artículos se sintetizaron mediante el software Rayyan, para la extracción de datos se utilizó Microsoft Excel 2016, el análisis de sesgo de los estudios seleccionados se utilizó la escala Newcastle-Ottawa (NOS). RESULTADOS: Se incluyó 4 artículos en la revisión, diseño de casos y controles, los cuales analizaron la relación entre la microbiota gastrointestinal con el espectro autista (TEA). Se evidenció que las diferencias en la composición bacteriana influyen directamente en la fisiopatología del TEA; además se obtuvo población con diversa influencia de factores externos que se verían reflejado en la variación de la microbiota de un territorio hacia otro, factores tales como: Ubicación geográfica y hábitos alimenticios. CONCLUSIONES: En esta revisión sistemática se determinó la existencia de cambios significativos en la composición de la microbiota gastrointestinal asociados con el trastorno del espectro autista en niños y adolescentes; particularmente explicado por la participación de la microbiota gastrointestinal en la regulación del eje intestino-cerebro, el cual manifestará características neuroconductuales típicas de pacientes con TEA.
