Abstract
ik schrijf dat muziek eminent is -zowel het beluisteren als het spelen en het schrijven van muziek -en dat dit alles ook helend kan werken.1 Het is dus vanzelfsprekend belangrijk dat kinderen vroeg in contact komen met muziek.Maar het zou een enorme misvatting zijn te denken dat alleen kinderen daar belang bij hebben.2Ook voor een volwassene -jong of al wat rijper -is het nooit te laat om muziekstudies aan te vatten of te hernemen.De moeilijke vraag is hoe je mensen nu in hemelsnaam op een goede manier voor de muziek kunt prikkelen, vooral wanneer de betrokken muziek en het bijhorende muziekinstrument voor velen niet voor de hand liggen.De Gentse Stuurgroep Van Peteghem Orgel neemt de uitdaging aan, en gaat zo op zondag 8 september 2019 aan de slag met de kerkorgels van de Gentse Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Sint-Pieterskerk en met een oud orgelwerk.De organisatoren springen hiermee op de kar van het thema van de Open Monumentendag: 'Kunst en Entertainment'.Al bij al is het hoofdzaak om de 'homo ludens', de spelende mens, in ons naar boven te halen.
