Introduction : l’Éducation Thérapeutique du Patient (ETP) améliore le pronostic fonctionnel de patients atteints de pathologies chroniques comme le trouble bipolaire. Des altérations des fonctions cognitives et métacognitives sont décrites dans ce trouble. Ces fonctions sont essentielles pour l’apprentissage, lui-même nécessaire pour bénéficier de l’ETP. Aucune étude à ce jour n’évalue l’impact des altérations de fonctions cognitives et métacognitives sur les capacités d’apprentissage lors de l’ETP chez les sujets atteints de trouble bipolaire. L’étude longitudinale présentée ici a pour objectif d’évaluer l’impact de ces altérations sur l’apprentissage de connaissances sur leur pathologie. Méthode : soixante-dix-huit patients atteints de trouble bipolaire ont été inclus avant de suivre un programme d’ETP, et ont complété la Montréal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA), la Subjective Scale To Investigate Schizophrenia (SSTICS), le Modified Card Sorting Test (MCST) et l’empan des chiffres de la Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS). Les participants ont également répondu à un questionnaire de connaissances sur leur pathologie avant et après la passation du programme ETP. Résultats : une amélioration significative des connaissances sur le questionnaire entre avant et après passation du programme ETP pour les sujets atteints de trouble bipolaire a été mise en évidence. Les capacités cognitives et métacognitives n’impactent pas significativement l’amélioration des connaissances. Conclusion : la réalisation de tests cognitifs plus précis pourrait permettre d’étudier plus précisément les fonctions cognitives, avec un échantillon plus grand de sujets. L’étude des fonctions cognitives, métacognitives et de leur impact chez les sujets atteints de trouble bipolaire mérite d’être poursuivie.
