Abstract
Tämän kandidaatintyön tavoitteena on selvittää, mitä ympäristövaikutuksia sähköpotkulaudoilla on. Kirjallisuustyössä elinkaarenvaiheet käydään läpi raaka-aineiden hankinnasta lähtien loppukäsittelyyn asti ja kerrotaan, mitä ympäristövaikutuksia näillä elinkaaren vaiheilla on. Sähköpotkulaudan raaka-aineiden hankinta ja valmistus tuottavat suurimman osan sähköpotkulaudan hiilidioksidipäästöistä. Raaka-aineiden hankinnalla on lisäksi monia muita ympäristövaikutuksia, kuten kaivostoiminnasta aiheutuva biodiversiteetin väheneminen ja vesistöjen saastuminen. Lisäksi käyttövaiheessa sähköpotkulautojen siirtely pakettiautoilla tuottaa suuren osan sähköpotkulaudan hiilidioksidipäästöistä. Merkittävää on myös se, mitä liikkumistapaa sähköpotkulaudoilla korvataan. Suurin osa sähköpotkulaudoilla tehdyistä matkoista korvaavat vähähiilisempää liikkumistapaa, kuten joukkoliikennettä, pyöräilyä tai kävelyä.
