Au travers de cette recherche, à caractère exploratoire, nous désirons identifier les différents déterminants influençant la philanthropie corporative dans l’industrie touristique. Bien que cette pratique, faisant partie de la responsabilité sociale de l’entreprise, soit en croissance depuis quelques années parmi les entreprises touristiques, la littérature académique portant sur ce sujet est assez rare. En mobilisant une approche socioconstructiviste, notre principal apport est la proposition d’un cadre théorique composé par un ensemble de déterminants. Ce cadre a été construit par un processus inductif et déductif en combinant la littérature académique et des analyses des données recueillies. En effet, nous avons interviewé un total de dix participants faisant partie d’un total de neuf organisations touristiques et qui sont en contact direct avec des pratiques philanthropiques dans le contexte montréalais. Nous avons procédé systématiquement à une analyse thématique des données qualitatives recueillies afin de développer les résultats. Le cadre théorique met en avant un ensemble de six déterminants qui sont divisés en trois niveaux d’analyses (individuel, organisationnel et institutionnel). Aussi, ce cadre prend en considération des aspects assez variés tels que les caractéristiques organisationnelles, les parties prenantes, la communauté locale, la structure de l’industrie et les externalités de l’activité touristique. Conséquemment, nos résultats visent à apporter des constats intéressants concernant la philanthropie corporative dans l’industrie du tourisme ainsi qu’à produire un effet de levier pour des recherches futures. \n_____________________________________________________________________________ \nMOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : philanthropie corporative, responsabilité sociale de l’entreprise, industrie touristique, théorie de la légitimité
