A utilização da Mobilização Passiva Continua (MPC) no pós-operatório da Artroplastia Total do Joelho (ATJ) proporciona melhoria na dor, amplitude articular e qualidade de vida. Analisar a influencia da MPC na dor, amplitude do movimento do joelho e qualidade de vida em pacientes pós ATJ, quando aplicada por períodos mais restritos de tempo. Foram aleatoriamente randomizados e analisados 37 indivíduos, divididos por 2 grupos, sendo que 18 efetuaram um protocolo de exercícios + MPC (Grupo Experimental – GE) e 19 realizaram só um protocolo de exercícios (Grupo de Controlo – GC). As variáveis primárias definidas foram a dor, amplitude ativa de flexão (AAF) e amplitude ativa de extensão (AAE) do joelho, e qualidade de vida (Escala Womac - Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index). Os participantes foram avaliados antes da cirurgia (T0) e nas 24 (T1) e 72 (T2) horas pós-cirurgia. Quando se compararam os resultados entre o GE e GC não se observaram diferenças significativas (p>0,05), no momento da alta hospitalar (T2), para a AAF, AAE, dor em repouso e qualidade de vida (Womac total). A MPC não teve influência na dor, amplitude de movimento de flexão e extensão do joelho e qualidade de vida em pacientes, 72h após ATJ.
