A Internet como factor de inovação no acesso a informação estatística

Abstract
A divulgação de informação através da Internet tem tido um crescimento notável a nível mundial nos últimos anos, constituindo por isso um factor de inovação no acesso a informação, em particular, a informação estatística. Tendo como base as perspectivas e estratégias empresariais ao nível da inovação, os comportamentos humanos na pesquisa de informação e respectivos modelos, e o papel da Internet na divulgação da informação estatística, esta investigação pretende avaliar a utilização deste tipo de informação (difundida através da Internet) como suporte à gestão empresarial. Para o efeito, foi efectuada uma análise de Institutos estrangeiros de Estatística, nomeadamente o Statistics Netherlands e Statistics Canada, e um estudo de caso do Instituto Nacional de Estatística português. Em todos os casos foi feita uma avaliação dos serviços prestados através dos respectivos websites e posterior comparação entre os serviços STATLINE, CANSIM e INFOLINE prestados pelos institutos holandês, canadiano e português, respectivamente. Relativamente ao caso português recorreu-se ainda à implementação de um inquérito junto de empresas potenciais utilizadoras do serviço INFOLINE do INE. Os resultados sugerem que as empresas recorrem à Internet para recolher informação estatística sobre possíveis consumidores, sobres os seus concorrentes e sobre os mercados, no sentido de formularem/modificarem e apoiarem as suas estratégias de gestão.
