Abstract
Dans les années ’60, au Québec, des travailleurs autonomes camionneurs-propriétaires, qui ne pouvaient se prévaloir du Code du travail en raison de leur statut, se sont battus pour obtenir la reconnaissance de leurs associations ainsi que la réglementation économique de leur secteur d’activité, le camionnage en vrac. Grâce à leur combat, ce secteur a été soustrait du champ de la « libre concurrence » qui avait jusque-là donné lieu à l’exploitation des camionneurs-propriétaires par les grands donneurs d’ouvrage. En outre, la lutte a conduit à l’adoption d’un règlement qui a institutionnalisé des postes d’affectation régionaux gérés par des associations de camionneurs-propriétaires jugées représentatives par le gouvernement.
