Abstract
Ter stimulering van de export van hout en triplex stelde de Canadese regering in 1965 een aantal Nederlandse deskundigen in de gelegenheid de in Canada veel toegepaste houtskeletbouwmethode te bestuderen. Ook in Scandinavische landen heeft men zich toen diepgaand georiënteerd.\nDeze onderzoeken hebben in 1968 geleid tot de uitgave van het SBR-rapport 'Houtskeletbouw' en de introductie van deze bouwmethode in ons land. Sinds die tijd is een groot aantal woningbouwprojecten in houtskeletbouw gerealiseerd en zijn ook invloeden van deze bouwmethode op de ontwikkeling van de Nederlandse woningbouw merkbaar. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn de geprefabriceerde houten binnenspouwbladen, sporenkappen en houten ribpanelen voor vloer- en dakconstructies.\nTyperend voor houtskeletbouw is de toepassing van hout voor zowel de dragende als niet-dragende delen van de constructie zoals wanden. vloeren en dakconstructie.
