Cette recherche concerne le mouvement social pour la possession de la terre au nord-est rural du Brésil, précisément dans la ferme Jaboticaba, municipalité de Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia, Brésil. L'objectif principal de cette étude est de comprendre le sens du mouvement social engendré par un grand conflit, qui a duré 10 ans, entre les grands fermiers et les agriculteurs. Nous nous sommes préoccupés surtout du processus éducatif populaire qui s'est déroulé pendant le conflit. Notre étude montre aussi la contribution de plusieurs acteurs/sujets de la recherche, engagés dans la construction de cette pratique sociale, qui avaient comme référence la lutte populaire pour la possession de la terre et la construction de différentes significations sociales. On peut considérer l'existence d'une pratique pédagogique provenant des mouvements sociaux. Cette pratique émerge comme une construction sociale imposée par une politique économique qui subordonne la vie sociale à la quête de réduction du déficit, qui est perçu comme l'unique politique possible. L'étude a choisi l'approche qualitative de recherche et s'appuie en données qualitatives pour l'analyse et la construction d'une perspective théorique - méthodologique pertinente à la complexité du mouvement social à l'étude. Enfin, cette recherche a permis de constater que les mouvements sociaux sont des pratiques sociales d'engagement prophétique, c'est-à-dire, qu'ils annoncent une nouvelle pratique pédagogique, basée sur le contexte de vie des gens qui sont les sujets de l'éducation populaire étudiée. \n
