El objetivo principal de la presente investigación fue describir las características de la resistencia muscular antero-posterior y lateral del complejo lumbo-pélvico en adolescentes estudiantes entre 15-17 años asistentes a básica secundaria en el colegio Calasanz de la ciudad de Pereira. Se realizaron test de resistencia muscular antero-posterior y lateral del tronco para estimar la duración en cada prueba y ser comparado con estudios referentes a la resistencia del complejo lumbo-pélvico y estimar el perfil de riesgo conforme a los tiempos validados por McGill, de los estudiantes valorados. Al final, se observó que los estudiantes poseen un desequilibrio de la resistencia muscular antero-posterior, con una acentuación mayor en el género femenino donde se evidencia, según los resultados de los test, poca resistencia de los músculos extensores de la columna vertebral, llegando a ser factor predisponente de posibles desequilibrios en la resistencia muscular del tronco, variable predictora de dolor lumbar según las referencias bibliográficas estudiadas.
