Abstract
Baltarusių tauta turi turtingą ir originalią istoriją, kuri daugiau negu 200 metų susijusi su Lietuvos Didžiąja Kunigaikštyste. Stipri istorinė atmintis galėtų baltarusius mobilizuoti būti socialiniai aktyvius, padėti jiems konsoliduotis kaip tautai. Dėl to svarbų vaidmenį, formuojantis kolektyvinei atminčiai, turi atmintinų datų ir jubiliejų šventimas. Tačiau jų potencialas panaudojamas nepakankamai. Svarbios istorinės datos [750 metų Mindaugo karūnacijai, Lietuvos tūkstantmetis] Baltarusijai netapo bendranacionalinio masto įvykiai. Kitų jubiliejų ignoravimas [Klecko mūšio 500-metis] iš esmės demonstruoja valdžios isto rinį nihilizmą. Dirbtinių užkardų kūrimas, švenčiant kai kurias mūsų protėvių senąsias pergales [pvz., 1514 m. rugsėjo 8 d. mūšio prie Oršos], sudaro galimybę įtampai visuomenėje augti. Baltarusijoje nemažai priešininkų, kurie prieštarauja istorinės atminties išplėtimui už 1917–1941 m. laikotarpio; LDK tradicijos yra gerbiamos daugiausiai neoficialiame lygmenyje. Sakytume yra taip, kad kiekvienas turi savo šventes ir jubiliejus, o tai veda prie tautos dezintegracijos. Tuo tik tebetęsiamas dar XIX a. prasidėjęs baltarusių visuomenės istorinės atminties susidvejinimo procesas. Baltarusių istorikų kaltė – jų pasyvumas populiarinant nacionalinę istoriją, LDK istorinį paveldą. Svarbu, kad dabar yra pastebimas baltarusių visuomenės negrįžtamas susidomėjimas LDK valstybės paveldu.
