The beam transmission efficiency was measured in terms of charge through the CLS\naccelerator complex to determine the performance of the injector system for top-up operation.\nPropagation through the injection system incurs notable losses from bending\nmagnets, beam choppers along the way and the transition from 2856MHz to 500MHz\nRF frequency at the injection point from the Linac-to-Booster transfer line (LTB) to\nthe booster. The present system only monitors the efficiency of the booster to storage\nring injection with two parametric current transformers (PCTs). In this experiment, the\ntransmission efficiencies between four key points in the Linac and LTB were measured\nusing fast current transformers (FCTs) along with the present system, which gives an\noverview of the total transmission efficiency from a very close point of the electron gun to\nthe storage ring. The FCT signals were corrected for the loss attributed to the cable attenuation\nby employing Fast Fourier analysis and determining the cables’ S21-parameter.\nThe charge calculation was improved by 3.3 − 7.5% with the corrected signals and the\noverall efficiency was found to be 16% ± 1% for top-up injection mode.
