Lithostratigraphie et pétrographieL'étude de la carotte de forage doit être entreprise stratégiquement pour permettre une prise de données efficace.Une première description a été réalisée pour discerner les principales séquences stratigraphiques témoignant d'environnements sédimentaires différents.On reconnaît dans ce forage trois unités dans la formation du Covey-Hill (CV1, CV2 et CV3) et une seule pour la Fm. de Cairnside (CA1).Ensuite, une description lithostratigraphique plus détaillée a été réalisée et une sélection d'échantillons pour l'analyse pétrographique a été faite.L'objectif étant de soutirer le plus d'indices quant à l'origine du sédiment, son transport, son environnement de déposition et son évolution diagénétique. Évaluation de la porositéAfin d'évaluer la capacité d'injection du CO2 dans ces grès, la mesure de la porosité est une donnée primordiale.Cette porosité va varier en fonction de la nature des sédiments, de la circulation de divers fluides qui ont affecté l'espace intergranulaire au cours du temps et par l'impact de la déformation des roches qui a affecté les formations.Le graphique ci-dessous montre cette variation de porosité dans le puits, évaluée par trois méthodes : la mesure par diagraphie, la mesure en laboratoire et par tomodensitométrie (Ct-Scan).
