Etude de nature exploratoire, longitudinale sur vingt mois, avec une méthode tes-retest, à prévalence quantitative, par l'utilisation de deux échelles validées, l'Echelle d'Alexithymie de Toronto (TAS- 20) et l'IRI (Index de Réactivité Interpersonnelle) de Davis, supportées par un auto-questionnaire sur les compétences corporelles, imaginatives, émotionnelles et empathiques. La population est constituée de 119 sujets, dont 93% sont des femmes, qui ont pratiqué la DMT (Danse Mouvement Thérapie), divisés en trois groupes: étudiants en DMT, étudiants de l'Académie Nationale de Danse, participants à des groupes cliniques intégrés. Considérant la durée de l'intervention par la DMT, la population a été divisée en un "groupe de durée brève" (avec un parcours DMT < 10 mois) et un "groupe de durée longue", (avec un pratique > 10 mois). Dans le groupe de durée longue, on met en évidence une baisse significative de la sous-échelle F3 de la TAS-20 (pensée opératoire) et une augmantation de la sous-échelle considération empathique de l'IRI, alors que le questionnaire d'autoévaluation met en évidence un développement des capacités corporelles, émotionnelles, empathiques, d'évocation d'images tout au long de l'expérience de DMT. Ces compétences sont associées à une augmentation significative de la capacité d'expression par la parole. La méthodologie de la DMT Intégrée, par son dispositif qui associe une pratique corporelle à des moments d'élaboration par le dessin et a parole, semblerait favoriser un processus d'élaboration émotionnelle en activant ce que Wilma Bucci appelle le "cycle référentiel".
