HUBUNGAN SMARTPHONE ADDICTION DENGAN PERKEMBANGAN SOSIAL DAN TINGKAT EMPATI PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH

Abstract
Pendahuluan: Jumlah pengguna smartphone meningkat secara signifikan, salah satunya dikalangan anak-anak. Frekuensi penggunaan smartphone yang terusmenerus dapat menyebabkan smartphone addiction pada anak-anak. Seorang anak dengan smartphone addiction apabila menggunakan smartphone sebanyak tiga kali sehari dengan durasi tiga jam setiap kali penggunaan. Data awal yang diperoleh peneliti menunjukkan 8 dari 10 anak SDN Pakis VIII menggunakan smartphone \nuntuk bermain game dan streaming youtube. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan smartphone addiction dengan perkembangan sosial dan empati pada anak usia sekolah. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel menggunakan 208siswa SDN Pakis VIII Surabaya yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif statistik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa kuesioner Turkey Smartphone Addiction Scale (TSAS), angket interaksi sosial dan Toronto Empathy Questionnaire (TEQ). Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan smartphone addiction dengan \nperkembangan sosial pada anak usia sekolah (p=0,030) dan r = -0,151. Hasil uji statistik juga menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif smartphone addiction dengan tingkat empati (p=0,033) dan r = -0,148. Arah hubungan negatif menunjukkan \nbahwa smartphone addiction dapat menyebabkan perkembangan sosial dan tingkat empati anak usia sekolah kurang. Diskusi: disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat smartphone addiction, menyebabkan semakin rendah tingkat perkembangan sosial dan tingkat empati pada anak usia sekolah.
