Questo elaborato esamina una problematica specifica del diritto spaziale internazionale, ovvero il regime di responsabilità per danni da oggetti spaziali. Dopo uno sguardo allo cinque Convenzioni che disciplinano il diritto spaziale, si procede all'analisi del Trattato sullo spazio del 1967, il quale delinea la responsabilità che grava sugli Stati per le attività nazionali nello spazio, andando ad occuparsi anche delle attività poste in essere da enti non governati. Poi si va dettagliatamente ad analizzare il principale strumento giuridico riguardante la responsabilità internazionale per danni causati da oggetti spaziali, la Convenzione sulla responsabilità del 1972, la quale si occupa della responsabilità per i danni causati a Stati, persone fisiche e persone giuridiche da oggetti spaziali. Infine si procede con lo studio del primo incidente che ha chiamato in causa la Convenzione del 1972, ovvero quello occorso al COSMOS 954, satellite militare sovietico andatosi a disintegrare su territorio canadese nel gennaio 1978.
