Abstract

Nous soutenons dans ce travail que, depuis le 11 septembre 2001, il y a une préoccupation centrale de la part du gouvernement canadien à prioriser la sécurité et l’intégrité du système d’immigration, et ce, au détriment de la sécurité des populations vulnérables que représentent les personnes demandeuses d’asile. Pour situer notre propos sur le plan théorique, nous mobilisons les études critiques de la sécurité, la sociologie politique, ainsi que les concepts d’efficience et de dispositif. Nous exposons les dispositifs bureaucratiques, légaux et technologiques qui concourent à produire ce qu’on nomme le dispositif de sécurité. Alors que les dispositifs spécifiques visent à produire la sécurisation du système d’immigration, notre travail vise à mettre en lumière comment il y a plutôt une création de l’insécurité pour les personnes demandeuses d’asile, sans nécessairement parvenir aux objectifs prétendus de ces dispositifs.
