La ville (re)productive : hypothèse d’un redéveloppement anti-spéculatif

Abstract
À Montréal, les zones industrielles désuètes sont l’eldorado des entreprises immobilières, qui les envisagent en table rase et y apposent du logement devenu marchandise. Entrevoyant plutôt dans ces espaces – tendus entre une vocation industrielle et résidentielle – un levier vers de nouvelles manières d’habiter, le projet s’intéresse à l’intersection entre domesticité et travail productif. Dans l’hypothèse d’un redéveloppement incrémental, le logement s’insère dans le quartier Bridge en conjonction avec l’existant, qui conserve une vocation productive. La ville (re)productive devient un écosystème programmatique où des éléments de travail domestique (cuisine, lessive, bricolage…) sont extraits des logements individuels pour être collectivisés et professionnalisés. Une stratégie foncière misant sur la dé-privatisation place le secteur à l’abri de la spéculation : d’apparence inhospitalière, il devient terrain d’essai pour une ville sensible échappant aux aléas du marché. C’est le bricolage qui est développé comme programme clé de l’intervention : il prend place dans une halle industrielle existante puis devient, par jeu de déclinaisons, une série d’ateliers de menuiserie et d’économie sociale. Dans son arrière-cour, du logement coopératif s’installe par une structure légère, adaptable, articulée autour d’espaces partagés dédiés aux tâches ménagères. Pensé comme support pour l’appropriation des habitant.e.x.s, le projet est une forme changeante, ouverte à l’interprétation, perpétuellement et collectivement généré par l’acte d’habiter.
