Abstract
Il libro introduce la riflessione sul pluralismo culturale attraverso una rassegna delle principali concezioni filosofiche che hanno segnato il dibattito sul liberalismo e (neo)comunitarismo, per poi approfondire il modello multiculturale di integrazione, di cui sono esaminati i fondamenti teorici,le differenziazioni interne e le applicazioni politiche. Il caso del Regno Unito e il raffronto con le politiche adottate in altri Paesi europei consente all'Autore di mettere a fuoco i limiti del multiculturalismo e la necessità di un superamento verso un nuovo "paradigma interculturale", attualmente oggetto di studio della migliore letteratura internazionale e al centro del dibattito accademico e dello scontro politico tra il modello multiculturale del Canada e quello interculturale, implementato nella città nazione del Québec. Confrontandosi con le riflessioni di Pierluigi Consorti e Gianfranco Bettettini sul ruolo del dialogo religioso come fonte di identità e riconoscimento tra comunità diverse, l'ambizione dell'Autore è quella di trovare una terza via adeguata alla particolare realtà socio-culturale italiana.
