A pesar de la existencia de instituciones nacionales que buscan desincentivar la compra de \nproductos falsificados, el fenómeno de este comportamiento ilegal en Chile cada vez ha tomado más \nfuerza. Año a año, se estiman millonarias incautaciones en productos falsificados que intentan \ningresar al país. Esto ha convertido a Chile en uno de los principales países a nivel mundial donde se \nlidera en faltas hacia la propiedad intelectual. \nEl propósito de este estudio es encontrar, desde el punto de vista del consumidor, \ndeterminantes demográficos y psicográficos que afectan la actitud e intención de compra de ropa \nfalsificada a través extender la teoría del comportamiento planeado (TPB). De este modo, aportar más \nevidencia en torno a la investigación, que, hasta ahora, no ha podido converger al respecto. Además, \nla investigación ha mostrado que se precisa desarrollar un perfil de consumidor por el país, dado las \ndiferentes características legales y sociales que posean. \nCon el fin de lograr este propósito, se realizó una investigación cuantitativa y exploratoria a \nuna muestra en Chile de 335 personas a través de una encuesta distribuida de forma no probabilística \npor conveniencia, la cual permitió testear las hipótesis sobre las relaciones a través del modelo de \necuación estructural por el método de mínimos cuadrados parciales basados en varianza (PLS-SEM). \nLos resultados muestran que el modelo TPB no se cumple y que la actitud hacía la compra de \nproductos falsificados es la causante más importante que explica la intención de compra y posterior \ncompra. Además, respecto a la actitud, la ética se muestra como el principal factor que la afecta de \nforma negativa. También, se encontraron efectos significativos por parte de la susceptibilidad \nsociocultural normativa, el género e ingresos. \nA partir de ello se recomiendan acciones y / o estrategias de marketing que permitan afectar y \naminorar la demanda de ropa falsificada en Chile.
