The students' awareness of a healthy diet, their assessment of their eating habits as well as the importance of teaching the subject and their preferences for studying the subject in one vocational school Healthy eating habits have an impact on a young person's health and overall wellbeing.The aim of the current thesis is to establish the students' awareness of a healthy diet, their assessment of their own eating habits as well as the importance of teaching the subject and their preferences for studying the subject in one vocational school.The data was collected using digital forms filled in by 91 students of non-catering curricula in one vocational school.The study established that nearly one-third of the students assess their eating habits as healthy and is of the opinion that a healthy diet is one that is varied and balanced.A third of the students do not have breakfast every day and more than a quarter skip lunch on school days.The students were of the opinion that the awareness of a healthy diet and its impact on good he kutsekooli pilaste toitumisharjumused ja ootused tervisliku toitumise petamisele 3 health and quality of life are the reasons for teaching healthy eating habits in vocational schools.The study also established that students are generally ready to learn the subject in a vocational school and prefer to study it as an optional subject and through practical cooking classes.
