Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt aleksitīmijas rādītāju saistību ar uztvertā stresa līmeņa un lamuvārdu lietošanas rādītājiem; noskaidrot aleksitīmijas, uztvertā stresa līmeņa un lamuvārdu lietošanas rādītāju dzimumatšķirības; izpētīt lamuvārdu lietošanas iemeslus, kā arī noteikt oriģināli izstrādātās lamuvārdu lietošanas aptaujas psihometriskos rādītājus. \n- Pētījumā piedalījās profesionālās vidusskolas skolēni - 32 meitenes un 30 zēni, kuru vidējais vecums M = 17,8 gadi. \n- Pētījumā izmantotais instrumentārijs - Toronto aleksitīmijas skala (Twenty - Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS–20), Bagby, Parker & Taylor, 1994), Uztvertā stresa skala (Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Cohen, Kamarck & Mermelstein, 1983), autores izveidotā aptauja par jauniešu lamuvārdu lietošanu kā emociju ekspresijas veidu un demogrāfiskā aptauja ar papildus jautājumiem. \n- Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka aleksitīmijas rādītāji ir statistiski nozīmīgi saistīti ar uztvertā stresa līmeņa rādītājiem. Netika atklātas statistiski nozīmīgas aleksitīmijas un lamuvārdu lietošanas rādītāju saistības. Tika atklātas dažas būtiskas aleksitīmijas rādītāju saistības ar atsevišķām lamuvārdu lietošanas situācijām: tad, kad citi izturas augstprātīgi; tad, kad citi neieklausās brīžos, kad vēlas ko nopietnu pateikt un tad, kad negaidīti pārsteidz.\n- Atklājas statistiski nozīmīgas dzimumatšķirības aleksitīmijas rādītājos, zēnu grupai uzrādot augstākus rādītājus. Tomēr uztvertā stresa līmeņa un lamuvārdu lietošanas rādītājos statistiski nozīmīgas dzimumatšķirības netika konstatētas. \n- Darbā tiek atklāti vairāki lamuvārdu lietošanas iemesli, kas saistīti ar emocionāli piesātinātu situāciju - spēcīgu dusmu piedzīvošana, neveiksme attiecībās, izgāšanās, tieši apvainojumi un kritika personībai, neizdošanās pēc ilgām pūlēm un negodīga, netaisnīga izturēšanās no citu puses. \n- Pētījumā tika pārbaudīta lamuvārdu lietošanas aptaujas atbilstība psihometriskajām prasībām, secinot, ka aptauja ir pietiekami ticama.\n- Pētījums ir novatorisks ar lamuvārdu lietošanas izpēti, aizsākot diskusiju par lamuvārdu lietošanas „pozitīvajiem” aspektiem – emociju paušanai, ko citiem vārdiem nav iespējams izteikt. \n- Atslēgas vārdi: aleksitīmija, uztvertā stresa līmenis, lamuvārdu lietošana, jaunieši.
