CONTEXTE: Lorsqu'une recherche est effectuée sur le thème de la santé sur internet, le site Doctissimo est omniprésent dans les pages de réponses. Sa visibilité sur le Web est bien supérieure aux sites officielles en charge de la diffusion d'informations sur la santé. Doctissimo, site Santé leader en France, génère une grande partie de son audience grâce à son versant interactif: les forums de discussion. OBJECTIFS: Mon travail consistait à étudier les motivations des internautes à poser leurs questions médicales sur le Forum santé du site Doctissimo. METHODES: Etaient inclus, après tirage au sort, les sujets de discussion comportant une question médicale dans le premier message de la discussion. Une grille d'analyse standardisée a été appliquée aux messages inclus. RESULTATS: 401 grilles d'analyse ont été recueillies. Les internautes qui posent leurs questions médicale sur le forum sont majoritairement des femmes (79,7%). L'affect principal qui motive le plus cette démarche est l'inquiétude sur leur santé (54,1%). 43,8% des internautes étaient malades et 24,7% doutaient de leur état de santé. 45,3% avaient bénéficiés d'un avis médical avant d'avoir recours au forum: ils recherchaient un second avis, des informations supplémentaires, des couseils ou des témoignages. 43,5% des internautes ne faisaient pas référence à un avis médical: 47% espéraient qu'un diagnostic soit posé à la suite de l'énumération de leurs symptômes sur le forum. CONCLUSION: La motivation principale de la participation à ce forum est principalement le désir de se rassurer grâce à l'établissement d'une relation malade-malade
