Abstract
Cumhuriyet Döneminde Laiklik uygulamalarının tarihi süreci araştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Laik kelimesinin kökeni, tarihçesi, Avrupa'daki kullanım alanı, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nde Lâiklik terminalojisinin kullanımı, Anayasa'da da kabulü ve uygulamaları değerlendirildi. 1924 Anayasa'sına Lâiklik maddesi konarak yeni Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nde Laikliğin temeli atılmış oldu. Atatürk, yeni kurduğu Türkiye Cuhuriyeti Devleti'ni laik temele dayandırdı. Artık iman ve ümmetçiliğin yerini laiklik yani AKILCILIK almıştı. Siyasi iktidarlar da aynı sistemi sürdürmek için gerekli çabayı göstermişlerdi. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti'nde günümüzde uygulamalarında bir takım engeller bulunmaktadır. Batılı Devletler Tam Demokratik Laik Türkiye Cumhuriyetinin Asya ve Ortadoğu ülkelerrine Model Devlet olma özelliğini istememektedirler. Sömürge politikalarına aykırı düşmüş olacağını bildikleri için. Bu yüzden Yarı Demokratik Laik Sistemin devamından yanadırlar. Laik sistem, akla, mantığa dayalı dinin devlet işlerinden ayrılmasını öngörmektedir. İman ve inancın yerini aklın almasını esas görür. Kişi hak ve özgürlüklerini, dini inanç ve ibadet hürriyettini de koruyan çağdaş bir sistemdir. Türk Milleti olarak bize düşen görev çağdaş uygarlık yolunda durmadan ilerlemek ve medeni milletler ailesinde yerimizi almaktır.
