Abstract
Leadership By The Book, capture the commonly recognized educational dilemma of inadequate formal training of Christian ministers in the following dialogue: "I was surprised you never learned any of that at divinity school," said the Professor."But we didn't," said the Minister."We were steeped in the gospel and developing a servant heart, but hadn't learned a thing about leading a growing church, motivating a staff, or enlisting the efforts of a volunteer army" (italics mine).Often pastors, teachers, missionaries, denominational leaders, bi-vocational ministers, and even volunteer lay leaders who graduate from Bible colleges and seminaries wish their ministerial training had been different.If they could `turn back the clock,' they would tackle more practical issues and challenges faced by ministers today, while still developing biblical, theological, hermeneutical and homiletical proficiencies.
