Abstract
Identifica c?mo la edad, estado funcional, deterioro cognitivo y situaci?n sociofamiliar se asocia a la estancia hospitalaria prolongada en adultos mayores, en el Hospital II Cl?nica Geri?trica San Isidro Labrador en el a?o 2015. Este fue un estudio anal?tico transversal, realizado en noviembre de 2015. Se revis? la historia cl?nica de 167 personas mayores de 60 a?os a los que se les hab?a realizado una Valoraci?n Geri?trica Integral y se consign? los d?as de estancia hospitalaria. Los datos fueron recogidos por medio del Mini Mental State Examination para valorar el estado cognitivo, la escala de Barthel para independencia f?sica, y la escala de Gij?n modificada para la valoraci?n social. Se realiz? an?lisis bivariado para las variables de inter?s, para variable independiente cuantitativa y dependiente cualitativa dicot?mica se us? T de student. Para las variables categ?ricas se us? Chi cuadrado de Pearson. En todos los casos, se consider? significativo los valores de p<0,05. Se utiliz? para el procedimiento estad?stico el software SPSS v23. En total fueron 167 pacientes, la media de edad fue de 77,8 a?os. El 33% de los pacientes evaluados (55) presentaron estancia hospitalaria prolongada. Se encontr? asociaci?n estad?sticamente significativa entre la estancia hospitalaria prolongada y deterioro cognitivo (p=0,016), as? como con dependencia funcional (p=0,001). No se encontr? asociaci?n con edad (t= 1,04; p=0,3) y problema social (p=0,671). El deterioro cognitivo y la dependencia funcional fueron factores asociados a estancia hospitalaria prolongada en la poblaci?n de adultos mayores estudiada.
