Evaluación de la dimensión ética y metodológica de los protocolos de investigación exonerados de revisión en el comité de ética de una universidad peruana

Abstract
El número creciente de proyectos de investigación aumentó el tiempo de evaluación por Comités de ética, por lo tanto, los protocolos con riesgo ético menor al mínimo son exonerados de revisión. Objetivo: Evaluar ética y metodológicamente los proyectos de investigación en humanos exonerados de revisión por el Comité de Ética de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia durante el periodo 2006-2009. Material y métodos: 173 protocolos fueron evaluados por 3 revisores independientemente. Resultados: En la evaluación ética: 3.5% de los protocolos usaron muestras biológicas, en 3.5% participó población vulnerable, 59.0% y 85.8% de los que requerían consentimiento y asentimiento informado lo tenían. En la evaluación metodológica: 17% de los protocolos fueron metodológicamente adecuados, así como 38% de protocolos de Salud Pública, 36% de Ciencias, 25% de Enfermería, 22% de Educación,15% de Medicina, 21% de postgrado y 10% de pregrado. Las dimensiones metodológicas más omitidas fueron las referencias según normas de Vancouver (54%), identificación de variables (50%), sección ética (44%), software estadístico (41%), tamaño de muestra (35%) o sus parámetros (26%) y el diseño muestral (31%). Se recomienda revisar el proceso de evaluación de la categoría exoneración de revisión de manera que tome en cuenta la parte metodológica.
