Les directions adjointes d’établissement scolaire (DAÉ) en insertion professionnelle doivent faire face à de nombreux défis liés à leur entrée en fonction et elles ont besoin de soutien afin de s’approprier les responsabilités et les tâches liées à leur nouvelle fonction (Brassard et Royal, 2010; Fortin, 2006; Gouvernement du Québec, 2006). Cependant, malgré le fait que les recherches indiquent l’importance du soutien à offrir aux DAÉ en insertion professionnelle, il y a peu d’écrits sur les stratégies de formation et l’accompagnement à mettre en place ainsi que sur les rôles à assumer par la direction d’établissement (DÉ) auprès d’une DAÉ nouvellement en fonction. À cet effet, nos projets d’intervention (l’évaluation d’un dispositif d’insertion professionnelle pour des DAÉ et le projet de recherche-action sur les rôles de la DÉ auprès d’une DAÉ en insertion professionnelle) apportent de nouveaux savoirs professionnels relativement à la formation, l’accompagnement, la supervision et l’évaluation des DAÉ en insertion professionnelle. D’une part, ces savoirs peuvent fournir un éclairage pour la prise de décisions afin d’assurer une insertion professionnelle qui soutient le développement professionnel des DAÉ. D’autre part, ces savoirs peuvent guider l’analyse de pratiques professionnelles afin d’assurer un agir compétent auprès des DAÉ nouvellement en fonction.
