Le passage d'un paradigme militaire à un paradigme sécuritaire se vérifie par plusieurs exemples. Au Canada, une illustration type est celle de la publication en 2004 d'une première politique de sécurité nationale. Pourtant, protéger une société ouverte semble davantage être une politique de sécurité publique plus globale qu'une politique de sécurité nationale traditionnelle centrée sur l'État, le rôle des forces années et les menaces militaires extérieures. Dans ce cadre nouveau, il est possible d'avancer l'hypothèse que nous sommes face à une reconfiguration majeure des rôles des institutions publiques de sécurité. La frontière n'est plus aussi tranchée entre le rôle des forces années, des services de renseignement et des forces policières; ces organisations sont actuellement en pleines mutations. L'objectif de cet article est de circonscrire certaines mu­tations qui justifient l'hypothèse de départ en insistant plus particulièrement sur la question du renseignement. En effet, une importance renouvelée est actuellement accordée à la question du renseignement. Ainsi, il apparaît intéressant de scruter les changements survenus au sein de la communauté canadienne du renseignement depuis la fin de la guerre froide et les attentats de septembre 2001. [...]
