Aquests darrers anys la comarca del Priorat ha cone gut un desenvolupament econbmic molt important que ha perm&s, entre altres coses, que moltes perso nes del nostre pas que abans noms sabien relacio nar aquest nom a un vi de taula corretjs, avui dia puguin situar al mapa el temtori que histoncarnent es va nuclear al voltant de la Cartoixa dEscaladei.El reportatge que el programa 30 minuts de TV3 va dedicar en el seu moment a la forta projecci que ha assolit la producci vincola del Priorat, il.lustrant les pugnes a les sales de subhastes de Nova York per a I'adquisici de determinades etiquetes i collites, fou en bona part, responsable del recent redescobrirnent general d'aquesta comarca.Perb ms enlla de la qesti vin'cola, en el mateix reportatge televisiu, ja traslluien alguns importants efectes secundaris que el nou fenomen ha reportat al Priorat, com ara el creixement demogrhfic, la creaci d'ocupaci en petits pobles on els joves a b m estaven condernnats a I'ernigraci laboral, la implantaci dimportants empreses productores de vi provinents d'altres zones vincoles, o el desenvolupament de les infraestruchires que estan destinades a millorar les comunicacions d'una terra histbricament aillada.Tot ,aixb sense perdre de vista el creixent interhs que d e s perta el patrirnoni histbric i natural de la comarca o el progressiu creixement que ha experimentat el turisme d'interior.
