Le but de notre étude est de comprendre les facteurs de barrières à l'intégration des comptables formés à l'étranger au sein de la profession de comptable au Québec. Nous avons eu recours à une méthodologie qualitative. Notre devis de recherche est de type étude de cas basée sur des entrevues semi-dirigées menées auprès de quatorze comptables formés à l'étranger. En dépit du nombre croissant d'immigrants qui décident de s'installer au Québec, et de la pénurie de la main-d’œuvre, beaucoup de professionnels formés à l'étranger éprouvent des difficultés à s'intégrer dans leur domaine professionnel. En ce qui concerne la profession de comptable, plusieurs études ont été menées auparavant mais très peu sont spécifiques à la Province du Québec et les résultats obtenus diffèrent d'un contexte à l'autre. De plus, de nouvelles barrières émergent à chaque étude justifiant la nécessité d'une démarche exploratoire pour mieux comprendre le sujet. Notre cadre théorique est celui de Weber (1971,1995) sur la théorie de la fermeture sociale et les différents thèmes qui ont été abordés ont été inspirés de la synthèse des facteurs de barrières à l'intégration cité dans la littérature. Nous arrivons à la conclusion que les facteurs de barrières à l'intégration des comptables formés à l'étranger au sein de la profession de comptable sont de nature informationnelle, discriminatoire, procédurale et liées aux compétences techniques. De notre recherche, émergent certains facteurs tels que les facteurs familiaux et sociaux, l'âge, l'influence des personnes de la même communauté ethnique et l'état d'esprit de l'immigrant. \n_____________________________________________________________________________ \nMOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Intégration professionnelle, profession, professionnel formé à l'étranger, barrières à l'intégration, fermeture sociale, comptable professionnel agréé.
