Background: Si sta prestando sempre maggiore attenzione alle misure di \ndisabilità per valutare gli interventi sui pazienti affetti da lombalgia. Lo \nstrumento Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBPDS) non è mai stato \nvalidato in pazienti italiani e lo scopo di questo studio è stata la sintesi \ndell’adattamento e della validazione del QBPDS in lingua italiana \n(QBPDS-I). \nMetodi: Il QBPDS-I è stato sviluppato mediante traduzione forwardbackward, revisione finale da parte di un comitato di esperti e test della \nversione prefinale per valutarne la comprensibilità. I test psicometrici includevano test per la validità strutturale con analisi fattoriale esplorativa \n(EFA), affidabilità mediante coerenza interna (alfa di Cronbach) ed affidabilità al retest (intraclass correlation coefficient), validità di costrutto valutando le ipotesi di correlazione della QBPDS con il Roland Morris Disability \nQuestionnaire (RMDQ), l’Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) e una scala numerica di intensità del dolore (NRS) (correlazioni di Spearman). \nRisultati: Ci è voluto un mese per sviluppare il QBPDS-I. Il questionario è \nstato somministrato a 201 soggetti con lombalgia cronica ed è stato ben \naccettato. L’EFA ha suggerito un’unica soluzione a 20 items. La coerenza \ninterna (a = 0,95) e l’affidabilità test-retest (ICC = 0,90) sono state eccellenti. La validità di costrutto è risultata buona poiché tutte le ipotesi sono \nstate soddisfatte; RMDQ: r = 0.40, ODI: r = 0.48, NRS: r = 0.44. \nConclusioni: Il QBPDS-I è unidimensionale, affidabile e valido per i pazienti con lombalgia cronica. Se ne consiglia l’uso per scopi clinici e di ricerca.
