Abstract
Cette étude a été réalisée dans le cadre du Projet NET-MED Youth (2014-2018), mis \nen œuvre par l’UNESCO et financé par l’Union européenne. L’étude, menée par le \nCentre interuniversitaire d’Etude sur les Arts, les Lettres et les Sociétés (CELAT) \nau sein de l’Université Laval, Canada, met en lumière les usages du numérique \nchez les jeunes du sud de la Méditerranée ainsi que diverses formes d’engagement \net de participation citoyenne en ligne. Ce travail original se fonde sur une vaste \nrevue de la littérature analysant notamment l’utilisation des TIC par les jeunes, \nla participation des jeunes de la région au débat public en ligne, les possibilités \noffertes par l’utilisation des médias numériques dans les différents pays, ainsi \nque les défis liés à la liberté d’expression. L’analyse croisée d’une quinzaine de \nplateformes les plus populaires dans la région a permis de dresser un inventaire \ndes thématiques et des questions abordées par les jeunes dans différents types \nd’espaces en ligne, de distinguer les catégories d’espaces numériques fédérant \nles jeunes, et de documenter leurs opinions et leurs attentes à l’égard des médias \nnumériques. Enfin, l’étude apporte des recommandations permettant de repenser \nles modalités d’appui à l’engagement citoyen des jeunes sur Internet.
