Thin Section Preparation From Benthic Foraminifera: An Example From Hasanağa Stream (West of Malatya, Eastern Turkey)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Benthic foraminifera, which is the subject of this study, are single-celled protists with shells. Laboratory studies dealing with the preparation of thin section from field samples have an important role in paleontological studies. There is a close relation between the precise determination of genus/species on thin section and the conveniently prepared thin section. Inappropriately prepared thin sections may result faulty determination. In this study, the laboratory process dealing with the preparation of the thin section from samples which are hard rock or free specimens taken from measured section on outcrops of the Eocene Darende Formation, has been discussed. In this context, while oriented thin sections were prepared from hard rock, equatorial and axial sections were prepared from free specimens. In addition, while polished sections were prepared from both hard rock and free specimens, splitting method was applied only to free specimens. It is found that araldit is convenient material for cementing the slices prepared from hard rock samples to the glass slides, whereas Canada balsam is more suitable material than araldit for cementing the slices prepared from free specimens

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
