Abstract
Certains auteurs ont identifié l'intolérance à l'incertitude comme étant un processus important relié à l'inquiétude et au Trouble d'anxiété généralisée (TAG).Ce mémoire vise à étudier le lien existant entre ce processus et l'inquiétude afin de mieux comprendre son implication dans le TAG.La première étude tente de démontrer la spécificité de la relation existant entre l'intolérance à l'incertitude et l'inquiétude.Les résultats obtenus confirment que l'intolérance à l'incertitude est un processus fortement associé à l'inquiétude et peu associé aux symptômes du Trouble obsessionnel-compulsif et du Trouble panique.La deuxième étude vise, quant à elle, à manipuler l'intolérance à l'incertitude afin d'en observer l'effet sur l'inquiétude.Les résultats démontrent que les participants dont l'intolérance à l'incertitude a été augmentée présentent un niveau d'inquiétude plus élevé comparativement aux participants dont l'intolérance a été diminuée.Ces résultats concordent avec le modèle théorique de Dugas et ses collaborateurs (1998) et soulignent l'importance de poursuivre les recherches visant à préciser le rôle de l'intolérance à l'incertitude dans le TAG.
